To make a donation in honor of someone, please add in the notes section on the Donate page, “[In honor of] [name of the person], [address or email address to send the acknowledgement]” when you make your donation. We will send them a note acknowledging the gift.

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes. If you have questions about designating a donation to EBSC via a donor advised fund, please email lisa@eastbaysanctuary.org. 

MAKE A QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DONATION (QCD) FROM YOUR RETIREMENT ACCOUNT

To make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from an IRA, you must:

  1. Be at least 70.5 years old. 
  2. Contact your IRA trustee to start the process. 
  3. Make the donation directly from the IRA to us Meet the deadline: The QCD must be made by the same deadline as a normal IRA distribution, which is usually December 31.
